Altus Group now has an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the established Property Tax Consulting team based in Toronto. We are looking for an experienced Sales professional to develop and foster relationships with prospective clients of the business and show them how Altus Group can add value to their business and become a long-term partner.


The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the full sales process from initial contact through to negotiating and signing contracts. We’re looking for somebody who can work autonomously within a team environment, manage their own pipeline successfully, communicate effectively at all levels and ultimately exceed their objectives and targets

 

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

· Prospect for new clients and turn this into increased business with a robust pipeline of opportunities to drive financial growth

· Identify potential clients with whom we have no recent engagements and the decision makers within the client company

· Lead negotiations, coordinate complex decision making with management and overcome objections to close deals

· Achieve annual goals and sales targets


Market Strategy

· With executive and business development leadership, develop and execute go to market strategy for key industries and prospects

· Track existing client base for new opportunities


Public Relations

· Represent the company at key industry and client events, build and maintain the necessary contacts to keep current on emerging issues of significance

· Attend industry functions such as network events, conferences and trade shows, and provide feedback and information on market trends

· Coordinate and participate in promotional activities and trade shows to market Altus services to prospective clients


Client Relationship Management

· Build and nurture client relationships to identify business opportunities for Altus

· Maintain strong relationships with existing client base

· Maintain and keep current CRM database updated (salesforce)

· Identify and promote upselling opportunities to existing client base

Key Requirements:

· College Diploma required

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required

· Experience and/or knowledge selling professional services is preferred.

· Intermediate knowledge and use of Salesforce or a similar CRM system and Microsoft Office Applications

· Extremely organized and proactive with strong time management skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Self-motivated with the ability to contribute both independently and as a team member

General knowledge of commercial real estate is an asset
