Job Summary:
 
We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Community Platform team. The Forge Community is an integrated digital ecosystem where Contributors and Forge clients can design, build and benefit from each other’s innovations. Resources, information and tools will be shared among participants

As the Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility is to identify and attract Fintech partners to develop products and services that enhance value for our participants/members on Central 1’s Community platform. You will be the lead on managing relationships with prospective and contracted Community contributors, communicating proactively to maintain business, improve satisfaction and expand usage of Central 1’s Forge Community products and services.
 

What you’ll be doing:
 

Be Contributor Liaison to enhance community satisfaction
  • Identify potential contributors (fintechs or credit unions) in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective client’s business and equipment needs.
  • Develop relationships with prospective contributors, while maintaining existing contributor & participant relationships.
  • Escalate point and conflict resolution front person, lead and maintain a detailed understanding of assigned contributors, their business, profile and culture, internal politics landscape and effectively articulate those particulars to ensure communication lines respect them.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility and contributor presence through effective communications and relations with current and potential clients.
  • Partner with sales teams to create information/proposals for current and prospective participants.
 

Business Development
  • Become a subject matter expert on Central 1 business products, processes and operations, and remain up-to-date on industry news, ensuring we are enaging with the right set of prospective contributors to ensure Community coverage of all solutions of interest to our credit union clients.
  • Lead the process to identify, qualify, pursue and win opportunities with assigned contributors
  • Leverage relationships to infiltrate and influence decision makers at the highest levels of contributor organizations to win opportunities.
  • Negotiate contract terms with contributors and communicate terms to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure contracted product specifications are executed on-time and as agreed
  • Maintain a broad understanding of the features and benefits of Central 1 Community products and services. Organize and host webinar presentations and demonstrations of Central 1’s Community products and services to clients.
  • Lead the development, preparation, presentation, and negotiation of proposals (including RFP’s & RFI’s) for prospective contributor.
  • Work collaboratively with the Product Management and Marketing teams to provide consultation, analysis, and perspective on product design, branding, and marketing initiatives to ensure alignment with contributor business needs and objectives, while ensuring that Central 1 is professionally represented and our brand is managed within the marketplace
  • Success in the role will reflect increased product and service offerings on the Community Platform with added value to our member organizations and within our existing financial model
 

What you'll have:
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or other relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated achievement in B2B sales, with progressively increased responsibility and business development experience. Comprehension of the credit union system at a national level is a definite asset, as is an understanding of direct banking and payment solutions
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a track record of building strong client relationships, you are passionate for being a leader in a “client centric” organization
  • The ability to create and influence mutually beneficial outcomes at a senior level through excellent communication skills (written & verbal), facilitation skills, presentation skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and industry-specific analysis software
  • Self-motivation with a high degree of problem solving/analytic skills
  • Ability to influence a variety of stakeholders and secure interaction with all levels to increase revenue opportunities with existing clients
  • Diplomacy, tactfulness, accuracy of information, time management and the flexibility to meet the diversity of clients are all essential skills to succeed in this role
  • Extended working hours and some travel across Canada will be required to attend meetings, conferences and client related events
