We are seeking a Client Relations Specialist to join our Sales Team in Spokane! The Client Relations Specialist is responsible for the service and renewal of Delta Dental of Washington’s clients ranging in size from 2-50 employees, with additional administrative responsibilities for clients size 100+. The CRS works closely with brokers and clients to ensure their continued relationship with DDWA, and our programs and services.

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • The ongoing management of accounts and to day-to-day activities.
  • This position works in association with the Contracts department for the renewal activities related to each assigned DDWA client.
  • The CRS will work with the Manager, Small Group Team to monitor the needs of their assigned group segment, and ensure our products and services meet these needs.
  • The CRS will partner with a Client Manager to process renewals for groups size 100+.
  • Work to achieve the company annual persistency goals set for the small group book of business.
  • Maintain group data related to contacts, activities, and changes in the SalesForce management program.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal stakeholders in various DDWA business units.
  • Proactively service accounts and determine customer and broker engagement levels and resolve service issues.
  • Act as a resource for special projects. Maintain status on all current projects and ensure timely and accurate project completion. Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain the internal small group renewal processes throughout the year. Implement changes to plan designs, contacts, benefits, etc within specific turnaround timeframes.
  • Use problem solving skills to negotiate customer needs within Delta Dental capabilities. Manage customer concerns and resolve outstanding issues.

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or University, and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Obtain a Washington State Office of Insurance Commissioner Health and Disability License within the first 90 days of employment
  • Four years public interfacing experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly proficient with personal computer applications, including all Microsoft Office programs (experience with reporting and database software preferred)
  • Proven track record of managing priorities and demonstrated project management skills.
  • Able to represent Delta Dental in a professional manner
  • Comfortable speaking in public and giving presentations
