Job Description
The primary purpose of the Compliance Officer is to provide leadership and coordination for the College’s compliance requirements and efforts including the Jeanne Clery Act and associated training including the producing of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report and Statistics reporting to the Department of Education, the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and Biennial Review, State of MN Mandated Sexual Violence Prevention student training, Minnesota Office of Higher Education required reporting for Study Abroad programs and Sexual Assault Data Report, Title IX Officer and serve as 1B.1/1B.3 investigator. This position serves as in a college-wide capacity. This position exists to ensure the college is meeting the compliance requirements set forth by various State and Federal agencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Live the mission, vision and values of M State to ensure a positive experience for all students and stakeholders. Service to M State students and stakeholders is a core component of the position and work responsibilities.
  • Serves as the institution’s designated “Campus Safety Survey Administrator,” as that term is explained in the Department of Education correspondence.
  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and conduct educational programs and initiatives designed to educate and support students and employees regarding their rights and, where applicable, obligations under Title IX, including reporting options/responsibilities, support resources, college policy and applicable Student Conduct Code, complaint/grievance procedures, confidential resources, etc.
  • Manages MN Legislative requirements for Sexual Violence Reporting to the MN Office of Higher Ed.
  • Maintain and update content on Student Right to Know webpage of college website.
  • Recognition of broad and varied professional responsibilities which include but are not limited to support for campus and college operations such as: front desk coverage, registration events, Spartan Welcome Days, Commencement, this is not an exhaustive list.

 

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree or directly related experience and an Associates or equivalent degree.
  • One year of experience working in policy and regulations analysis ;
  • Skills in oral and written communications, interpersonal skills and organizing and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to use independent judgement and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
  • Proven ability to develop and present training and educational programs and/or workshops.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions

 


Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience complying with the requirements of the Clery Act and Title IX
  • Advanced Clery Act Training.
  • Advanced Title IX Training.
  • Three years or more of work experience with an institution of Higher Education.
