Job Summary:
 
As the Credit Administration Officer, you will provide administrative support to the Commercial Lending team. You will be responsible for providing loan administration, monthly reconciliation of loan trial balances, and providing member service support to our Credit Union partners.
 
What you'll be doing:
  • Perform duties relating to the administration of the commercial loans system Portfolio Plus (“PPlus”) including loan set-up, payment processing, and extracting of data and report generation.
  • Monitor commercial portfolio for repayment and covenant requirements.
  • Prepare mortgage renewal letters and payout statements as instructed by regional managers.
  • Reconcile monthly loan trial balances of PPlus to general ledger (G/L)
  • Review and/or maintain loan histories/profiles, exposure reports, credit enquiries, credit reports, invoices, fees and other departmental accounting requirements.
  • Provide timely assistance to Commercial Real Estate Lending enquiries from member credit unions and/or borrowers.
  • Cross train with team members on other month end reports related to risk, ALCO and other ad hoc reports.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the electronic and paper-based departmental filing systems and makes recommendations for improvements or updates to both systems.
  • Process settlement accounting entries for loan transactions.
  • Assist in the verification of transactions in the Treasury Administration department for accuracy.
  • Maintenance of the Commercial Real Estate Lending Loan Syndication System.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of Commercial Real Estate Lending.
 
What you'll have:
  • Previous work experience in a financial institution with exposure to Commercial Lending administration is an asset.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, finance, or accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs with Intermediate level knowledge of Excel.
  • Working knowledge of the loan administration software Portfolio Plus (“PPlus”) is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, with established department service standards ensuring exceptional member satisfaction.
  • Assumes ownership of expected results, exhibits dedication to own work and proactively contributes to the team’s overall success.
  • Accuracy is required in all areas of the role, particularly monthly reporting, and other related tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven interpersonal communication skills and political astuteness.
  • Effective analytical skills to identify errors and provide timely solutions to improve efficiencies in processes.
