The role of Customer Contact Representative is responsible for providing timely and quality service to our customers by responding to inquiries about their claims and educating stakeholders on Workers’ Compensation benefits and services.
 
Initially, successful new hires will train in the role of Customer Contact Representative. Based on business need and candidate readiness, they will have the opportunity to progress into Case Assistant training and future Case Assistant vacancies.
 
Your Customer Contact Representatives responsibilities:
  • Using logic and good judgment to quickly assess the caller’s concerns and determine and perform the appropriate action required.
  • Provide accurate responses to inquiries from workers, employers, medical and service providers in addition to answering general inquires on WCB matters in a busy inbound call centre.
  • Efficiently collect and document relevant claim related information to assist Adjudication and Case Management teams.
  • Correctly release information to ensure compliance with FOIP legislation.
 
Your Case Assistant responsibilities:
  • Assist the Case Manager in providing pro-active services to clients resulting in their safe and early return to work.
  • Gathering information from workers, employers and health care providers via telephone or written correspondence.
  • Manage the Permanent Clinical Impairment (PCI) process.
  • Monitor and review medical and long-term wage replacement benefits.
  • Oversee academic and training on the job programs for injured workers.
 
Your experience and skills:
  • Post-secondary education in a health- related discipline, business, science or arts would be an asset.
  • Experience in a claims environment, insurance, disability management, rehabilitation or other related fields is desirable.
  • Skilled in interpretation/application of policy and/or legislation, administrative processes and contact with customers.
  • Capable of managing a demanding workload and work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to independently make decisions and handle complex inquiries.
  • Demonstrated team skills with ability to build internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Reliability and time management are integral to success in this position. Must be able to work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday to Friday, with occasional shift changes.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer/keyboarding skills are essential with experience using MS Office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and/or other related experience is a definite benefit.

Salary Range 7 | Start Rate: $53,424.00 | Job Rate: $59,328.00 per annum
 
Final candidates for this position will be required to undergo a security clearance. Candidates that do not meet qualification requirements may be considered for other positions. Successful candidates must be available to attend 4 weeks of training at the time of hire.
