Our Team:
Genesis Place provides a variety of leisure/recreation/wellness services, opportunities, programs, events and activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in and around Airdrie. The Customer Service department is an internal support team for front line contact with the public, program registration, fee collection, pass sales and managing account information.

The Opportunity:
  • Providing exceptional front line customer care
  • Processing admission and recreation pass sales
  • Cash handling, including cash outs and verification
  • Processing program registrations
  • Assisting with monitoring facility area usage
  • Leading or assisting in all facility emergencies
  • Opening and closing the facility
  • Maintaining professional and friendly relationships with internal and external customers
You Bring:
  • 3 to 5 years’ of customer service experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ of cash handling experience
  • Standard First Aid - Level C CPR and AED certification (please provide copy with application)
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Recreation software would be an asset
  • Previous experience working in a recreation facility would be an asset
  • Exemplary and proven customer service skills
  • Ability to demonstrate maturity and responsibility
  • A welcoming, friendly, approachable and positive personality
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to adapt well in an ever changing and diverse environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information:
This is a casual part-time position

Requirements of Availability:
  • Provide availability for a minimum of 2 weekends per month or one weekend day per week
  • Provide availability for a minimum of one evening shift per week
  • Preference given to candidates that can work a variety of shifts that include opening, day, evening and weekend coverage

Candidates may be asked to perform physically demanding tasks, such as helping with room set up and light janitorial duties. Staff also need to be aware that they have to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time and this job involves continuous computer work and in-person/over the phone customer service.
