Upper Canada Road Services is always looking for General Laborer’s to join any of our road working teams, helping our crews on municipal streets, regional roadways and provincial highways.

Responsibilities:

General laborer duties associated with line painting, crack sealing and other road working activities
Help clean and prepare work sites
Load and unload materials or equipment into work vehicles
Assist in the set up and take down traffic control as per Ontario Book 7, including the assistance with the placement, move and dismantling of road signs, traffic barrels or cones and flagging operations
Maintain and clean equipment, conducting routine maintenance or minor repairs as required
Perform housekeeping duties within the shop and yard
Work safely and conform with all health and safety policies
Perform other duties as required and as assigned

Requirements:

Mechanical inclination to understand, maintain and perform minor repairs on equipment
Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
Willingness to work in all types of weather and temperatures
Willingness to work assigned night or day shifts, with the flexibility to work long shifts
Be physically fit and able to lift up to 30 kg.
Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
Must be able to work well in a team environment, have strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude
