Looking for amazing work experience? Join the team at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo as a permanent Guest Relations Call Centre Representative! The Call Centre Customer Service Representative is primarily responsible for answering incoming calls from guests inquiring about products, programs and special events; responding to inquiries; troubleshooting complaints and significant customer service concerns; and for providing overall general information.

What you will do:

  • Respond to guest inquiries through email, telephone and/or in person
  • Handle sales transactions
  • Research required information using available resources
  • Handle and resolve guest complaints
  • Provide customers with product and service information
  • Data entry to process orders, forms and applications
  • Identify priority issues and route call to appropriate resource
  • Follow up on guest calls where necessary
  • Complete call logs
  • Responsible for obtaining the cash bag prior to starting and counting and remitting cash bag at end of shift (if applicable)
  • Responsible for balancing one’s cash (if applicable)
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will bring:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a call center environment
  • High school diploma is preferred
  • Some previous cash handling experience
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel. Experience in Patrons Edge considered an asset
  • Strong data entry/keyboard skills
  • Must be confident working alone and in a team environment
  • Have the ability to multi-task in a high paced environment
  • Great customer service skills including the ability to navigate through difficult situations

Working Conditions:

  • Working indoors
  • Schedule includes weekdays and weekends and possibly early morning and evening hours during high volume periods

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility and all staff working at the zoo must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions. The organization follows the advice of Environment Canada when responding to temperature and air quality issues.
The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo will be a no smoking environment including vaping as of January 1, 2023.
