Purpose of Position

THIS POSTING WILL BE USED TO CONDUCT ONGOING RECRUITMENT AND WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED.

Why does the job exist?

This job for the Public Education Department's, Professional Licensure Bureau exists to provide support and technical assistance to applicants and licensed individuals. Additionally this position exists to support the Licensure Manager with the daily operational tasks of the bureau.

How does it get done?

  • Manage the Licensure Bureau front desk including:
  • independently reviewing and responding to emails from applicants, licensed individuals, and human resource departments
  • answer all calls routed to the front desk line, provide concise courteous responses, and forward to a consultant or manager when needed
  • greet and assist all constituents who come for in person assistance, reassign when appropriate
  • review and assign daily mail to licensure consultants and licensure manager
  • support consultants in licensure and backgrounds with review and issuing during peak times
  • Manage daily deposit reconciliation including:
  • review daily transactions
  • reconcile to the daily deposit report received from accounting
  • return reconciled report to accounting
  • report any discrepancies to the licensure manager and accounting
  • Manage daily assignments to licensure consultants including:
  • review daily licenses issued report
  • pull daily application received report
  • assign applications for processing to licensure consultants
  • provide assignments to licensure manager for follow up

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:
~5 or more years of experience in a high paced customer focused setting
~Experience in a PK-12 setting a plus
~Advanced skills with Microsoft suite

Minimum Qualification

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico's Driver's License.

Working Conditions

Executive Order 2021-066 requires all employees with the State of New Mexico to provide either proof of COVID-19 vaccination (including proof of a booster dose of vaccine by January 17, 2022, or within four weeks of becoming eligible for a booster dose) or proof of a COVID-19 viral test every week.

The Public Health Order (on Vaccination) dated December 2, 2021, requires Congregate Care Facility Workers and Hospital Workers to have received a primary series of vaccination by October 6, 2021, and a booster dose of vaccine by January 17, 2022, or within four weeks of becoming eligible for a booster.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
