What responsibilities will you have in this role?

 

  • Determines applicant eligibility for admission and evaluates foreign and domestic academic credentials and proof of employment.
  • Advises applicants of admissions requirements and pathways to completion.
  • Receives, reviews, and tracks the receipt of admissions documentation.
  • Generates admissions-related correspondence.
  • Performs prerequisite checking for all registrants in the Anatomy Challenge Exam.
  • Responds to general enquiries related to all aspects of Dental offerings for George Brown Continuing Education, upholding standards of service excellence to attract and retain students.
  • Provides application and admission advisement to prospective students.
  • Explains and directs students to relevant policies and procedures of the College.
  • Provides Front Desk coverage and front-line student service for the Centre for Continuous Learning, Continuing Education.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

What qualifications do you need for this role?

 

  • Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business or Office Administration and/or equivalent experience or educational background.
  • Minimum three years office experience in an educational or relevant industry setting with experience in adult education preferred.
  • Experience gained as a team player in an office environment using a variety of computer software packages such as MS Office and Student Information System databases (SIS) is an asset.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office; excellent knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and relational databases.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills to liaise with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to cope under pressure associated with the management of numerous high volume tasks in a busy service environment; high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member and to establish priorities and make decisions within prescribed boundaries.
  • Ability to manage numerous complex and demanding tasks and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Discretion, sound judgement and a commitment to preserving strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve conflict while exercising tact.
  • Demonstrated commitment in delivering excellent service to others as this is key in supporting the success of our students and our College.
  • Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
  • Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
