Job Description
This position is accountable for facilitating and managing clinical, internship, and capstone placement in multiple healthcare systems. This position will support Nursing and Health Administration program assessment activities within the SNHL department as applied to undergraduate and graduate majors and faculty. The Program Experiences Coordinator will work closely with the department Nursing Chair, department Health Administration Chair, SNHL program coordinators, department faculty, and staff, as well as other key student service areas such as Advising Services, Admission, and Registrars, and academic departments that provide prerequisite or supportive courses for all prospective and current students.

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support faculty and program coordinators with clinical/internship/capstone placement and address the diverse needs of students related to planning these experiences.
  • Support the collection and analysis of program evaluation data in the areas of students and alumni as required by various department accreditation and state board program approval.
  • Educate nursing and health administration undergraduate and graduate majors, faculty advisors, and other student service areas on nursing and health administration major admission requirements and procedures in coordination with program coordinators.
  • Assist with student recruitment activities and represent department at events as needed. Travel to local and regional high schools, industry partners, community college partners, and college fairs.
  • Disseminate program admission and progression information to prospective and current students. Work with department coordinators to establish effective advising policies, procedures, and practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional experience in a health-related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze data and make decisions.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Functional knowledge of database software and management, word processing, and student tracking processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field plus two years of professional experience in a health-related field.
  • Familiarity with clinical/experiential learning practice settings in the areas served by our programs.
  • Experience with on campus and distance education.
  • Experience mentoring students and novice faculty.
  • Experience working in an academic or clinical/internship/capstone setting.

NINE-MONTH FACULTY APPOINTMENTS

Along with all other Universities that are part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, standard faculty appointments are for 168 duty days distributed over any nine consecutive months. The nine months need not align with the traditional academic year and may be changed every two years. Initial faculty appointments at MSU Moorhead are expected to be similar to or the same as the academic year unless otherwise indicated on the vacancy notice.
