The project control officer (PCO) will work closely with Client Delivery Leads, Project Managers, and Program leads within an integrated program. The PCO team will be accountable for a variety of administrative and program support tasks related to contract and project deliverables, governance coordination, document management, and financial analysis.

This role encompasses the service delivery, operational, financial, business growth, client management aspects of the client relationship, along with budget reporting, deliverable payment administration, diver report analysis and content for governance reporting.

Your future duties and responsibilities
  • Track and assist with completion of deliverable reviews, contract deadlines, supporting documentation for client review and acceptance
  • Administer contract management framework for complex statements of work related to the program
  • Coordinate and lead projects effectively and ensure they are delivered on time, on budget, and to agreed quality standards
  • Financial Analysis including resource plans, time reporting, deliverable payments, and billing corrections. Works closely with project managers and business unit finance team to lead overall program forecasts and budgets.
  • Assist in running the P&L of the account including forecasting growth opportunities
  • Coordinate delivery activities such as interim reviews with Client, final deliverable submissions, and deliverable schedule management
  • Identify and mitigate project delivery, schedule, and operational risks
  • Prepare decks for Executives as well as other meeting materials and take meeting meetings
  • Administer and schedule meetings, workshops, travel and other team or executive events
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
  • 3 years or more related experience ie. work on IT projects, or other analysis roles in a consulting environment, or with program coordination
  • 3 years or more of experience within financial analysis, reporting, tracking, and understanding financials
  • Confident with optimization of financial data: financial forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, understanding of P&L, and interrelated cross-BU particularities
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of contract management and legalities involved for change requests
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools: SharePoint, Outlook, Excel (Macros, Pivot Table, Vlookup, Conditional formatting, Graphs), PowerPoint, Word
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Detailed oriented, with strong documentation skills and problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of contract management, change management, and legalities involved for change requests
  • Understanding the client environment, stakeholder management; ability to identify opportunities and leverage them into business opportunities for CGI an asset
  • Proven track record of being able to optimally multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and as well as thrive as part of a team
