Description:

 


Reporting to the Senior Special Projects Officer and supporting the priorities set by the Chief Operating Officer, the incumbent provides confidential project support, and undertakes initiatives and daily activities within the Office of the Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity and Culture (PSEC). The Project Coordinator will assist with and advance projects by conducting research, providing analytical guidance, design support, and serving as a project manager and/or member of a project team. Such project management and implementation includes:

 


(a) developing draft communications such as presentations and correspondence,

(b) developing and maintaining project plans and records,

(c) developing and implementing initiatives for efficiencies,

(d) undertaking research on a variety of issues and topics, and

(e) ensuring pro-active engagement with, and responsiveness to, stakeholders of the PSEC portfolio.

 


The role of the Projects Coordinator will continue to evolve and the individual must be willing to respond to the given priorities of the day and be willing to work cooperatively in a challenging and dynamic environment.

 


Qualifications Required:

 


I. EDUCATION:


University degree or a diploma/ post-secondary program or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Training in project management is an asset.

 


II. EXPERIENCE:

 


  • Minimum four (4) years of related project, design, and/or administrative experience required, preferably in a university setting.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures, and an understanding of the University of Toronto’s organizational structure, including its governance.
  • Experience working with diverse teams on multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Experience conducting research and presenting written and visual content to communicate findings.
  • Experience with higher education sector and public sector administration is an asset.
  • Experience with design thinking/UX design, communications, and/or human resources an asset.

 


III. SKILLS:

 


  • Computer skills including intermediate to advanced skills in spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
  • Proficiency with Office 365, including SharePoint.
  • Ability to present information through visual media an asset.
  • Familiarity with web search and research tools.

 


IV. OTHER:
