Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager, Student Learning Centre & Libraries, the Receptionist - Student Learning Centre is the first point of contact for both Coaching and Peer Tutoring services within the Student Learning Centre. In addition, the incumbent provides reception and scheduling support to the Student Learning Centre Coordinator and department.

 

The incumbent works to staff the Kiosk - Student Learning Centre and answer a variety of questions about the available services.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Reception / Kiosk Staffing:

  • Greets learners at kiosk in the Student Learning Centre;

  • Responds to email, chat and in-person questions and inquiries;

  • Acts as the first point of contact for the Student Learning Centre, guiding learners to the services the centre offers.

 

2. Peer Tutor Support:

  • Assists with Peer Tutor scheduling, bookings, and questions about payment in the Peer Tutoring platform, Tutor Ocean.

 

3. Room Bookings:

  • Provides directional support to students in the 2nd floor DARE district;

  • Assists learners with DARE District meeting room bookings.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • One (1) year certificate in Office Administration or related field;

  • Experience in a post-secondary environment;

  • Previous data entry/customer service skills preferred;

  • Experience in using MS Word or Excel;

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Demonstrated effective organization, time management, and planning skills.

 

Schedule

Tuesday: 8:30 - 4:30

Wednesday: 8:30 - 4:30

Thursday: 8:30 - 4:30
