This role is based in the Greater Toronto Region.
 
Who we are: Ko Te Taurapa Tūhono tēnei
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is New Zealand's international business development agency. We are looking for a Business Growth Advisor to help New Zealand tech businesses land and expand in the US. This role offers exposure New Zealand’s most innovative tech companies and provides the opportunity to work alongside a diverse range of founders, CXOs and stakeholders across the globe.
 
 
What you’ll be doing: Te whakamahere
You will support a portfolio of NZ tech companies to develop and execute their GTM plans and accelerate their US growth.
 
You’ll be helping them refine their ICP, figure out PMF, validate SOM and identify best route to market.
 
This is a coaching role and requires commercial savvy, a healthy dose of EQ and a proven understanding of the growth phases of tech companies.
 
We are looking for a tech professional who’s worked in one or more of these areas fintech, edtech, insurtech, proptech and/or all the other techs. If you have a consulting or advisory background in these areas, we’d love to hear from you.
 
 
What you’ll need to be successful: Ō Pūkenga
Goes without saying, we need someone who’s adaptable and ideally has experience in an advisory role.
 
You are a relationship builder and leverage networks with ease. You have an enthusiastic “make it happen” attitude, are used to ball juggling and working across time zones.
 
You’ll be empathetic and take the time to listen, understand and ask killer question before recommending a way forward. You quickly build rapport, influence, and work collaboratively, sum of the parts and all that.
 
Ideally you also bring:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a commercial role where you have worked with a portfolio of companies to support their growth.
  • Experience in building GTM strategies, marketing, channel partner management, business consulting or enterprise sales.
  • An existing tech network.
  • Comfort with ambiguity.
  • If you know or love NZ, that’s a plus.
